HOME SAFETY

We specialize in identifying current or potential obstacles within your home and offer solutions that balance the ease of physical function, aesthetics, and cost. We'll show you how to adapt your living space to help you get around your home safely with increased independence.  Making a few small adjustments can be the difference between living a sedentary lifestyle with feelings of fear versus living confidently free from worry.

THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE

Therapeutic exercises are designed to treat particular problems such as injuries, decreased muscle function, impaired skeletal function, minimized flexibility, strength, and endurance.

We emphasize the importance of balance exercises that strengthen the muscles that keep you from falling.  We work with neurological conditions including Strokes and Parkinsons, joint replacements, arthritis, respiratory and cardiac conditions.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A CHANGE IN FUNCTION

Signs of a decline can be subtle. More than half of falls go unreported and are not recognized by family.  The more we know and understand the more we can help. Here are some signs of a possible functional decline in either mental or physical health:

  • Limited Mobility
  • Loss of Personal Hygiene
  • Slowing Down
  • Unsteady Balance and Falling
  • Weight Loss
  • Withdrawing from Hobbies or Interests
  • Mood Changes
  • Forgetfulness
  • General Weakness
  • Difficulty Managing Medication
  • Unkempt House
  • Unable to Manage Finances

BELIEVING PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.

It's always better to prevent an illness rather than treat it after it happens.  And while some factors are out of our control, there are many important risk factors that are within our power to change.  By preventing problems, or identifying them early, you are more likely to live a longer, healthier, and more satisfying life.
